The Laser Laboratory

Focus:
The laboratory is focused on the issues solution of the selective growth of Goss grains and the modification of the magnetic domain structures by laser scribing technique. The originality of our process is based on use of the controlled gradient of deformation energy between the Goss grains and grains with undesirable crystallographic orientation in the sheet plane which is induced by thermal dilatations via the local laser expositions in order to achieve the selective growth of Goss grains. The main materials which prepare in laboratory are electrotechnical steel (transformer and dynamo steels) as well as the other compact materials according to the requirements of basic and applied research – metals, ceramics and composites.
