Laboratory of Preparation and Thermal Treatment of Samples

Focus:
Laboratory of preparation and thermal treatment of the samples is focused on processing of the materials in high vacuum and in protective gas atmosphere, as well as in the presence of the external magnetic field. The main focus is dedicated to amorphous, nanocrystalline and conventional crystalline soft and hard magnetic materials based on the 3d or 4f transition metals and their alloys. Thermal treatment of magnetic materials in the external magnetic field, i.e. “thermomagnetic annealing”, allows direct modification of their functional magnetic properties, which could be potentially utilized in various application areas, such as transformation and conversion of the electrical energy, materials for magnetic refrigeration and sensors.
